Meditation
Machines
What are meditation
machines?
Well they’re just that…machines or pieces of equipment that
help you ‘meditate’. They are usually portable and have headphones and glasses that produce prompts to visually and
audibly inspire the user. I have read some sites that say meditation is fast and easy; close the window, click
away…they’re not for real. The reputable companies will tell you that it takes time for your brain to learn to
follow the prompts or signals.
Meditation machines are fairly new
technology – at least compared to how long meditation has been around. I haven’t tried one and probably won’t
– I'd rather do the ‘real’ thing...
But perhaps you have tried meditating and you just
can’t reach the state of relaxation that you need. Maybe a machine will help you. Look for a brand that has been on
the market for some years.
But note a warning that was published on one website:
‘People using light/sound machine, who are subject to any form of seizures, epilepsy or visual photosensitivity,
are using a pacemaker, suffering cardiac arrhythmia or other heart disorders, currently taking stimulants,
tranquilizers or psychotropic medications, specifically including illicit drugs and alcohol, please do not use our,
or any other light/sound system’.
